2012 Petroni Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

Tasting Notes: A dark crimson red with a very expressive nose exhibiting classic Cabernet aromatics. Pools of cassis, berry fruit, floral aromas and a dash of sweet mint harmoniously complimented with oak derived notes of mocha, vanilla, and fine spices. Broad, mouth filling, evenly textured and well balanced the wine demonstrates perfectly what a mountain Cabernet should taste like. Smooth tannins, ripe fluid fruit, enhanced with some mocha, cedar and spice from the classy French oak complete the flavor profile. All this framed by ample firm tannins and moderate acidity. This vintage is built to age and will comfortably mature for the next decade.

90pts Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
-"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in French oak) exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of blackberries and camphor, and nicely integrated oak, acidity, and tannin. It is a stronger, richer, more complete eô€ƒ—ort than the Limited Release, and cuts a larger, more interesting swath across the palate. It should drink well for 10- 15 years."
