The Cadden Family Vineyard is a pristine, sustainably farmed 6 acre vineyard planted in 2007 in the North Eastern corner of the Napa Valley appellation, situated on a subtle south facing slope at about 700 ft. elevation. There is one dedicated acre of clone 1 Sauvignon Blanc on the property, planted in rocky clay loam soil.
The Sauvignon Blanc was hand harvested on the morning of August 5th, 2015. Picking the best evenly ripened clusters yielded only 1.3 tons of fruit. After crush, the juice was put into stainless steel to begin a cold and slow native yeast fermentation. Once complete, the wine was transferred into neutral French oak barrels which added some subtle spice notes and texture. On June 16th, 2016 the finished wine was bottled. 66 cases were produced.
The wine has a delicate pale straw color with a slight tinge of green. A subtle bouquet of citrus oil, kiwi and lemon grass are followed by vibrant tangerine and yuzu fruit notes on the palate, wrapped up with a long and zesty mouthwatering finish.
